An important aspect of achieving sustainable goals is the use of innovative technologies, for example to improve access to food, clean water, healthcare and affordable and clean energy (SDGs 2, 6, 3 and 7). Technological change also plays a decisive role in the design of sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) and in the area of responsible consumption and production (SDG 12). Issues such as digitization and big data and artificial intelligence will become increasingly important in various fields such as medicine, mobility, and the design of smart cities. STEM education aims to develop and offer innovative solutions to global issues directly related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
